Pastor's Message
Dear Parishioners and Friends, As pastor of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Orthodox Church of Greater Lowell, I extend a warm welcome to you and to our parish website. Our parish dates back to 1910 when a courageous group of Armenian women realized the need for an organized Armenian community with the primary goal of building a church from the newly established immigrant community. In l9l3, with the help of the Armenian men of the community, a building committee was formed that raised enough funds to purchase a small parcel of land on Lawrence Street in Lowell. Their dream of building a church was finally realized in l9l6 when Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church was consecrated, making it one of the first Armenian churches built in America. Recently, almost 100 years later we celebrated our 35th anniversary at our current location on Old Westford Road in Chelmsford. For nearly 100 years, Sts. Vartanantz has continued her mission ministering to the spiritual needs of her faithful parishioners. I would like to personally invite each and every one of you to make Sts. Vartanantz your spiritual home, and hope you will join us for Sunday services, get involved in our many activities and enjoy the fellowship of all the fine people within our community. Prayerfully, Father Khachatur Kesablyan |
